Visual & Movement Specialist
Position Overview
The Visual & Movement Specialist supports Spectre Percussion’s visual education program by providing instruction related to visual technique, movement, drill, staging, choreography, body responsibilities, and performance quality. This role helps implement the pedagogical, technical, and rehearsal approach established by the Visual Caption Head
The Visual & Movement Specialist works directly with members of the entire ensemble to support visual achievement, consistency, preparation, performer responsibility, and production clarity throughout the season.
Key Tasks

Teach visual technique, movement, choreography, drill, staging, and body responsibilities

Support visual timing, form control, performance quality, and overall production achievement

Reinforce the visual technique program and established rehearsal approach

Provide clear, actionable member feedback during rehearsals and performances

Communicate visual needs, concerns, and progress directly to the Visual Lead Tech or Visual Caption Head

Foster member preparation, accountability, rehearsal habits, and a positive visual culture
Qualifications & Desired Traits

Must be at least 23 years old (or aged out of WGI Percussion) to be considered.

Strong understanding of visual technique, movement, choreography, staging, timing, body quality, performer responsibility, and performance achievement

WGI or DCI marching/teaching experience highly preferred

Ability to support ensemble coverage needs and attend at least one full rehearsal weekend per month

Access to a phone, email, computer, reliable internet, and the tools needed to review drill, choreography, video, schedules, and rehearsal materials
